He is actually attempting to purchase this book in comic book #40. Still pretty awesome!
The fight scene in the desert between Saint of Killers and the entire army is a classic. Herr Starr had no idea what he was getting in to. We are not sure if this particular scene will be in the TV show but if it is it will change television history. We are still waiting to see who is going to play Saint of Killers but it had better be a badass as you can see from this picture:
Then there is the best line of the entire first 37 issues:
We meet Amy in Preacher #27 and she is quite the looker. This could be a great part for the AMC TV show:
We have no idea who would be cast as Amy but there are plenty of attractive actresses out there that would die for the part if the Preacher TV show gets popular. We have already heard that Ruth Negga absolutely kills it as Tulip so to work beside her for a handful of episode could launch someone’s career.
We also learn that Amy and Jesse have very good chemistry together which would be a great subplot for the show. If this character is cast as a very attractive actress it could end up causing problems with Jesse and Tulip. There are a number of different angles the TV show could go with this storyline.
Who do you think should play Amy? Do you want this character from the Preacher comic books in the TV show?
There is a good chance we will learn Cassidy’s first name in the final episode of season 1 of Preacher as per IMDB:
Most diehard Preacher fans are fully aware of Cassidy’s tendencies. He is bordering on being an alcohol and seems to be hated by many people in different towns throughout the United States and world. It wouldn’t be shocking if Cassidy had his own attorney on call at all times. With the amount of trouble he gets into, he will need all the legal help he can get. He has also been in so many fights he will need a specialized dentist if he hopes to keep his smile someone normal.
As the TV show progress, it will likely be the case that fans have a love-hate relationship with Cassidy. After the pilot most fans voted that Cassidy stole the show. It will be interesting to see how they react when they find out that Cassidy goes behind Jesse’s back to try to hook up with Tulip. Let’s just hope we get this far in the TV series.
Is there any possible way they can incorporate this into the TV show? There is no way, right? Some of the shit that happened during that sex party was just plain ridiculous. Unless AMC is very open to the biggest debacle there is just now way they can do this. Well, who knows.
If you have any interest at all in laughing your ass off at a comic book, go read Preacher #15 right now. It has to be one of the best comic books that has ever been written. Remember, this is not for the faint of heart nor those that do not enjoy complete debauchery. If you do enjoy that type of dirty, disgusting humor you are going to absolutely love the Jesus DeSade sex party scene.
Below you will find the sales for all 66 Preacher comic books. For the first 18 issues we only have the order index as we don’t get estimated sales until issue #19. We will use a 700 multiplier for the index to generate the sales number assuming issue 18 and issue 19 are similar around 50,000 copies sold. This is one of the only modern comic books in history to double sales in less than two years; 14 issues to be exact.
Elizabeth Perkins, Celia Hode on Weeds, will play Vyla Quincannon on the AMC TV show Preacher. We have learned she is, “a genteel but formidable businesswoman who owns the local slaughterhouse in Annville. Ambitious, strong-willed and terrifying, Vyla shares a past with Jesse’s father which gives her a singular hold over Jesse.”
This is an impossible question to answer as we truly have no idea. From calculations, we can assumer there were about 20,000 copies sold back in 1995 when the first issue came out. Today, we see around 1500 copies that are CGC graded. Of those 1500 copies, 409 are 9.8 and 405 are 9.6 as of late February 2016. That number is sure to change as we get closer to the AMC TV show premiere.
If 1500 copies have been CGC graded, how many other high quality copies are still floating around? The answer is not a lot. From experience with The Walking Dead, we know that most people that have high quality copies are going to get them graded to see if they can make any money selling them on eBay or another auction website.
